It’s been revealed that Mucc will release one more single in February before releasing a new album in March 2009. Exact dates and names for these releases are still unknown. It would be great if this album saw physical release in the states, but there’s no word on release outside of Japan yet.

T-Earth in Chile

A Chilean anime convention has announced that TOSHI with T-EARTH will perform in the tall, narrow nation of Chile on October 11. Toshi and T-Earth will be promoting their debut album ‘Earth Spirit’, and evidently Toshi will also sing X Japan songs. The line-up will be Jun, Toya, Ruca, and Levin.

Back in Action

Got a new laptop, so I’m back in action.  Anyone who wanted to see more pictures from Japan will have to wait a little longer as I have my old HDD rescued.

I must have clicked something wrong somewhere. Ooops.

Rumor has it that Versailles will be adding a second word to their name due to a conflict with an American band named Versailles. If I was to make an X Japan joke, I would insinuate that Versailles will now fire Jasmine You, and start making a bunch of ballads and progressive stuff.

[geist] has been tearing up the Baltimore scene for a few years now, and are currently working on their full length album “Grotesque” and will be playing at T-Mode the weekend of September 5th. They’ve just made two songs available for purchase on their Myspace including the new single “The Brillant Black”. If you like metal head over and give them a try.

I spoke to [geist]’s vocalist Kane today about this.

TOE : What are your thoughts on The Brilliant Black and Nevaehell?

Kane:I think they’re songs that really showcase our recent growth as a group, and show us starting to come into our own as a band and develop our own unique musical style.

TOE:Are these songs a good preview of the album, or will we be surprised?

Kane: The album will have a much greater range than just the few songs we’ve released so far, so in addition to heavy rock tracks, there’s also going to a lot more. I think fans are going to be really pleasantly surprised.

TOE: Will geist continue to play occasional covers, or are you moving away from that?

Kane: I’d imagine we’d still do the occasional cover song every once in awhile at a live or two, but in general we are moving away from that to really focus on developing our own sound as original artists.
We want listeners to be able to recognize and appreciate us for our own unique sound as well.

TOE: Give us some details about your upcoming live at T-Mode

Kane: We’ll be the last band to play on Friday night, which is really exciting to be playing in the main spot for that night. We’re going to be playing some of the older tracks that fans are already familiar with, but also some new material that will be released later with “Grotesque.”

For anyone who can’t be at the show, we’re also in talks to have it recorded live and broadcast at a later date, but you should still definitely see it live if you can haha

Toe: How is the album coming?

Kane: The album is back in production now; unfortunately I had some vocal injuries which required me to rest for awhile and pushed back production, but now we’re looking at finishing up and releasing everything this winter. We’re confident that it’ll be our best release yet.

TOE: Finally, What cd should everyone go listen to right now?

Kane: Right now I’m listening to the album “Wildness & Artifice” by Unwoman, which is a really good indie accoustic act that I definitely recommend. A little unknown, but still really good.
